The European Solidarity Corps brings together young people to build a more inclusive society, supporting vulnerable people and responding to societal challenges. It offers an inspiring and empowering experience for young people who want to help, learn and develop.
The goal of the project
The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is the new European Union initiative which creates opportunities for young people aged 18-30, to work in projects that benefit communities and people around Europe. It targets both jobseekers and employers and provides a comprehensive mobility package which includes financial support.
The European Solidarity Corps brings together two complementary strands: volunteering and occupational activities. Public employment service of Slovenia is part of the occupational strand. It will provide young people with the opportunity of a job, traineeship or apprenticeship in a wide range of sectors which are engaged in solidarity-related activities, and which need highly motivated and socially-minded young people.
Young people engaged through the Occupational part of the European Solidarity Corps for a job will have an employment contract and will be paid for the job they do in accordance with the respective national wage laws and collective agreements that are in force. They will be subject to the labour laws of the country in which they are working. After jobseekers registration to the occupational strand of the European Solidarity Corps, they would be invited to keep their profile up-to-date and proactively search for interesting vacancies. Moreover, you can actively look for job vacancies yourself in the EURES portal.
The European Solidarity Corps is a major opportunity for organisations of all types to involve young people in projects related to European solidarity. The ESC is a new initiative, and organisations are still in the process of developing their ideas and proposals for projects.
In order to apply for a job and for financial support, young candidates can qualify for interview trip, relocation allowance, reimbursement of return travel costs, language course, recognition of qualifications and supplementary relocation allowance and integration to subsistence allowance for trainees.
In order to apply for financial support, employers can qualify for integration programme: training and mentoring.
The project supports European mobility and sustainable recruitments with fair working conditions. Under the present call, the sheme is expected to ensure around 100.000 placements.

From May 2017 to September 2019.
The Public Employment Service of Italy/ANPAL is the lead-applicant of the EU project Europan solidarity corps until May 2019. The project is run by seven different countries in a Consortium with Italy as the lead, Public Employment Service of Slovenia is as associated partner to this Consortium. The project covers all of the EU countries.
